“We spend half of our money inland, the other half abroad.”
Germany, we support the "Tafel", a non-profit organization, that provides the most needy with (qualitatively acceptable) food, that otherwise would have been disposed. Due to the importance of proper transportation, "Stiftunglife" together with local "Lions" friends donated more than 200 cold store trucks.

Myanmar
Construction of schools
In most rural regions school lesson are still held in the open air, lacking the most elementary resources. Our goal is to create the framework for good teaching. That is why we’ve financed the construction of 13 school-buildings in the last few years. Moreover it is of great importance to us to familiarize pupils with hygienic basics in order to prevent diseases.
BAföG program
The goal of our BAföG program is to financially support the best Burmese students. Since 2008 we’ve been providing students with approximately 65 Euro per month. Following the idea of the German ‘Federal Law on Support in Education’, they had to agree on paying the money back, once they finished their studies and earn money. With the payback we will then support other students which are in need. We currently support 30 students, which were chosen due to an assessment test.

Solar light
During spring 2009 we traveled the area of the Myanmar Delta and asked the impoverished population what they needed most. Among education and health care, ‘light’ was one of the essential needs stated. Currently the majority of the Burmese people uses candles and petroleum lamps, which both are unhealthy and expensive. By distributing solar lamps with the aid of three local organization, we provide a clean and cheap solution that helps in the long term.

Swimming doctors
The Delta is a large and almost impassable area. There's no way around using a ship, if wish to get in contact with the local population. That's why we build a mobile clinic. Three indigenous physicians, four nurses and basic medical equipment will be transported to 22 villages based on a fixed schedule. The launch of the project is planned for the second half of 2010.

Ethiopia
Water project in Ethiopia
Fresh, cold and clean - We support the local population by building wells throughout the Midda region, which is one of the poorest in Ethiopia. In particular in this region of the country, water is a scarce resource, which is desperately needed. We invested 55.540 Euro in the construction of 19 wells, which will be built by locals under the guidance of MFM (Menschen für Menschen) workers.
